Wizard Player Billeting

East Coast Wizards JR Boys Hockey are looking for new families for our 2022-2023 Junior billet program.  We are thrilled to have players joining our team from across the country and we are looking for Host families for a few of those players who will be joining us from out of state.  The boys would be 18-20 years old.  They are very independent and would need little besides a room and access to kitchen, and will have transportation of their own.  The boys will be at the rink from 8am-12pm every day, most boys will either work or take classes after they get out of the rink.

Families receive a monthly billeting payment for each player ($525 per month).

What is expected of the host family?

The player would need a room of their own and access to a kitchen to make their own food.  The player you would host will bring their own mattress, bed, and bedding (unless you have one already that’s ok for them to use).  They are on their own for meals (this is why they would need access to kitchen, you are not responsible to cook for them unless you decide to on your own).

What is expected of the players?

The players must adhere to all team and house rules and show respect and consideration toward all family members. Your generosity will not be taken for granted.

How long is a host family’s commitment?

This varies depending on the playoffs but expect September – March. Most are with the family during the hockey season only. Some players go home for the weekend as often as the game schedule permits.  There are two big breaks for thanksgiving and Christmas where they will be home.
